The 2023 NFL Draft saw a linebacker go all the way up at pick 18 when Jack Campbell came off the board. Despite cries for positional value not matching the pick, the Detroit Lions did not care.
The 2024 NFL Draft isn’t likely to see a first-round linebacker, plenty of Day 2 talent is on the board and some of them will be slotted into major roles immediately. How each prospect performs at the next level remains to be seen, but envisioning the emergence of several long-term starters from this year’s draft is a realistic outcome.
