There was a time when those of us here in the Pacific Northwest thought the act of honking your car horn was solely a character trait of rude, impatient motorists living in urban swamps in other parts of the U.S.  

Surely, we thought, we’re better than that. We wear our $300 Patagonia puffies to Whole Foods to look for deals on organic produce while sipping on some of the best espresso in the world. Honking?
