Although the Emmy Awards, set to air on Sunday night on CBS, don’t award the most-watched shows, it’s nice to have an insight into which TV shows were the most popular among viewers. And the numbers may come as quite a surprise.
In a new Nielsen report of how many hours were watched of the series in the top Emmy categories, it was revealed that CBS’ “Survivor” — which broke back into the race this year, nudging out “The Voice” — racked up more than twice as many viewing hours as any other show nominated for best drama, comedy, limited or reality competition series, during the eligibility period.
