Cancun is entering the 2025–26 high season under an unprecedented security operation, with Quintana Roo authorities deploying over 7,000 police officers across the state’s main tourism zones. The move aims to strengthen tourist confidence during one of the Caribbean’s busiest travel periods.
According to a new report in Reportur, the deployment includes municipal police, state forces, the National Guard and specialized tourism units. Patrols are now concentrated around Cancun’s Hotel Zone, beaches, nightlife districts, and transport hubs, including the airport and bus terminals.
