Donald Trump Should Stop Talking

Donald Trump is running for President on the platform that he has more support than the other candidates do. The thing is, his support is waning. Every time he opens his mouth, he loses more. So, why doesn’t he shut up?

He’s been the subject of ridicule, mostly about his hair and his obnoxiousness, since he first opened his mouth. He was even the butt of jokes on his television show about making people sell things in ridiculous ways and then firing them if they didn’t luck out. Okay, I’m only guessing on the TV show because I have only watched ten minutes of one episode, but my brain cells were dying and I had to quit.

Now, as a (this really seems like a practical joke) Presidential candidate, he wants people to boycott Fox News because, as far as I can see, they aren’t saying what he wants them to. He actually wants the FCC to fine National Review Editor for using a perfect metaphor (that Trump found offensive) to symbolize how Carly Fiorina put Trump in his place at the Republican debate. This is laughable to anyone who has actually listened to anything Trump has said EVER.

Does Trump really think that saying things like, “He sweats more than any young person I’ve ever seen in my life. … I’ve never seen a guy down water like he downs water. … They bring it in buckets for this guy.”

And this was all in one week. By looking at this “campaign” from the beginning, it seems that Trump’s strategy is to attack and bully other people into submission. He tries to intimidate others to distract them from their points. Is this the person we want to run the country?

I have an idea, Mr. T, how about using some of your self-proclaimed billions to help us out with some of the flailing government programs? How about forgoing a salary during your term? What if you actually say something relevant instead of throwing barbs and being ridiculous.

I had more faith in Stephen Colbert when he staged his bid for election with Doritos as his sponsor. In fact, if Jon Stewart ran for President, I’d vote for him. He’s smart, knows the government system inside and out, and if he’s making a critical statement, he’s basing it in fact. He may have emerged from Comedy Central, but he’s a whole lot smarter than Trump.

How can “The Donald” improve his image? Shut up. Every time he opens his mouth, he offends someone else. He wants to build a big wall “like the Great Wall of China” between the US and Mexico. Is he paying for that? Oh, he’s going to convince Mexico to pay for it. Well, his communication skills should make that one an easy sell (I need a sarcasm font). He’s going to bomb ISIS, overhaul healthcare, fix the country’s infrastructure, and more empty promises.

Trump may know business, but he doesn’t understand negotiation or communication. If he wins the party’s vote for candidate, I really hope it’s just a big bit from Impractical Jokers.
