A widespread Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect across much of Nevada as persistent snowfall and gusty winds continue to create hazardous travel conditions, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
The advisory, first issued earlier this week, has been extended in several regions through late Thursday night and early Friday morning.
The National Weather Service office in Elko reported that snow accumulations between 1 and 6 inches are expected across large portions of eastern, north central, northeast, northwest, and south central Nevada.
Affected communities include Elko, Ely, Winnemucca, Eureka, Tonopah, and Battle Mountain. The advisory remains in effect until 4 a.m. PST Friday.
