A powerful late-season storm is intensifying across parts of Montana, prompting the National Weather Service to upgrade earlier alerts to a Winter Storm Warning for mountainous regions, including areas around Big Sky and West Yellowstone.
Heavy Snowfall and Hazardous Conditions Expected
Forecasters predict significant snowfall totals between 7 and 11 inches, with even higher accumulations at elevations above mountain passes. The warning covers portions of the Little Belt, Highwood, Gallatin, Madison, and Centennial mountain ranges.
