Canadian cross-border travel to the United States continues its steady decline, with December marking the 12th straight month of year-over-year losses.
According to newly released data from Statistics Canada, Canadian residents made just 1.3 million automobile trips to the U.S. last month, a 30.7 per cent drop compared to December 2024.
That figure is consistent with November 2025, which also saw a sharp decline of 28.6 per cent from the same period in the previous year.
Travel by air fared slightly better but still saw an 18.7 per cent year-over-year decrease, with just 470,700 air return trips recorded from the U.S.
