Urgent Winter Weather Message Issued for Oregon and Washington

An expansive winter storm system is set to impact large portions of Oregon and Washington this week, prompting multiple advisories and warnings from the National Weather Service. Forecasters warn that heavy mountain snow, low-elevation accumulations, and gusty winds will create dangerous to near-impossible travel conditions through Thursday morning.

In southern Oregon, the National Weather Service Medford has issued overlapping Winter Storm Warnings and Winter Weather Advisories beginning at 10 p.m. Monday and continuing until 10 a.m. PST Thursday. The most severe conditions are expected above 1,500 to 2,000 feet, depending on location.
