An urgent winter weather alert remains in effect across large portions of Michigan as the National Weather Service (NWS) warns of hazardous travel conditions, lake-effect snowfall, and reduced visibility through late Wednesday night and into Thursday morning.
Multiple Winter Storm Warnings and Winter Weather Advisories have been issued by NWS offices in Marquette, Grand Rapids, and Gaylord, reflecting the widespread and evolving nature of the system.
In Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, Luce County remains under a Winter Storm Warning until 1 a.m. EST Thursday, with forecasters expecting moderate to heavy lake-effect snowfall and blowing snow.
Additional accumulations of 1 to 6 inches are anticipated, particularly north and west of Newberry
