A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for portions of western Montana and northern Idaho, with the National Weather Service (NWS) warning of accumulating snow and hazardous travel conditions beginning late Saturday night and continuing through Sunday morning.
The advisory affects mountainous terrain and key transportation corridors across eight counties, including parts of the Southern Clearwater Mountains, Central Panhandle Mountains, and Montana’s Lower Clark Fork Region.
Forecasters expect snowfall to develop overnight, with the heaviest accumulations occurring at higher elevations above 3,000 to 4,000 feet. According to the NWS office in Missoula, Idaho’s Highway 12 corridor from Powell to Lolo Pass could receive between 3 and 6 inches
