Heavy Snow, Blowing Winds, and Dangerous Travel Conditions Expected Through Tuesday Morning
An urgent winter storm warning has been issued across wide stretches of Michigan and Wisconsin, with the National Weather Service (NWS) warning residents of whiteout conditions, dangerously slick roads, and blowing snow that could make travel nearly impossible in some areas.
“We’re urging people to avoid unnecessary travel until the system moves through,” said Chris Hoving, meteorologist with the NWS in Grand Rapids, MI.
“The snow totals may not seem extreme on their own, but when combined with 40 mph winds, the results can be deadly.”
