Urgent Freeze Warning Issued For North Florida and South Georgia

The National Weather Service (NWS) in Jacksonville has issued an urgent Freeze Warning for portions of Southeast Georgia and a Frost Advisory for North Florida, signaling an unseasonably cold air mass descending across the region.

Residents are being urged to take immediate precautions as sub-freezing temperatures could cause harm to people, pets, and plants overnight into early Tuesday morning.

Sub-Freezing Temperatures Expected Overnight

According to a bulletin released at 10:53 a.m. EST Monday by the NWS, temperatures are forecast to drop as low as 30°F in Southeast Georgia, where the Freeze Warning is in effect from midnight tonight through 9 a.m. Tuesday.
