Urgent Freeze Warning Issued for Countries in across Florida

An urgent Freeze Warning has been issued across large portions of Florida, as a rare and potentially damaging cold snap is expected to grip the state overnight into Friday morning.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), sub-freezing temperatures and hazardous wind chills will impact northern, central, and parts of southern Florida, posing serious risks to agriculture, infrastructure, and vulnerable populations.

The warning, released by multiple NWS offices including Melbourne, Jacksonville, Tampa Bay–Ruskin, and Miami, remains in effect from late Thursday night through Friday morning, with the coldest temperatures expected between 1 a.m. and 9 a.m. EST in most regions.
