U.S. Embassy in Trinidad and Tobago Issues Travel Warning Over U.S.–Venezuela Conflict

The U.S. Embassy in Port of Spain has issued a security alert advising American citizens in Trinidad and Tobago to avoid all U.S. government facilities through the holiday weekend, citing a “heightened state of alert.”

The warning comes amid growing regional tensions between the United States and Venezuela, following a series of deadly U.S. strikes in Caribbean waters targeting suspected narcotics traffickers. At least 19 people have reportedly been killed in six maritime operations since last month.
