The U.S. Embassy in Rome has issued a security alert warning American citizens to exercise caution amid planned demonstrations taking place in the Italian capital on October 24 and 25, 2025.
According to the Embassy, a protest is scheduled for Friday, October 24, beginning at 6:00 p.m. in Piazza Verdi, where a significant police presence is anticipated. A larger demonstration will follow on Saturday, October 25, from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., organized by the Italian General Confederation of Labor (CGIL).
The Saturday march is expected to attract approximately 30,000 participants and will move from Piazza della Repubblica through Piazza dell’Esquilino, concluding at Piazza di San Giovanni
