Strong winds and critically low humidity have prompted widespread weather warnings across Texas and neighboring states, as forecasters caution residents about extreme fire danger and hazardous travel conditions.

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued multiple Red Flag Warnings and Fire Weather Watches spanning the Texas Panhandle, South Plains, Rolling Plains, and parts of western North Texas.

Wind gusts exceeding 50 mph in some regions, combined with relative humidity values dropping into the single digits, have created what meteorologists describe as a volatile environment for rapid wildfire growth.
