A powerful late-season winter system has prompted the National Weather Service to upgrade and extend snowstorm warnings across large portions of Michigan and Wisconsin, as forecasters warn of deteriorating conditions through Friday and into the weekend.
The storm, described as a “messy spring system”, is bringing a dangerous mix of snow, sleet, freezing rain, and strong winds across the Upper Midwest—creating widespread travel disruptions and increasing the risk of power outages.
Authorities emphasize that conditions could become “nearly impossible” for travel in some areas, particularly during peak commuting hours.
