The National Weather Service office in Buffalo, NY, has placed much of Western and Central New York under a Winter Storm Warning, beginning as early as Wednesday afternoon.
This includes counties such as Niagara, Orleans, Erie, Genesee, Monroe, Wayne, Cayuga, Oswego, and Jefferson.
Total snow accumulation is expected to range between 5 to 12 inches, depending on the region, with localized heavier bands anticipated in elevated areas like the Tug Hill Plateau and Chautauqua Ridge.
