Oklahoma Under Severe Thunderstorm Warning As Powerful Storm Hits

Central and northeastern Oklahoma faced a volatile start to Thursday as the National Weather Service (NWS) issued multiple Severe Thunderstorm Warnings for a rapidly moving line of storms capable of 60 mph wind gusts, confirmed tornado and hail ranging from penny-size to quarter-size.

In the Oklahoma City metro and surrounding counties, the NWS Norman office said storms were tracking northeast at roughly 70 mph, with impacts expected to include damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
