New York and New Jersey See Over 400 Flight Cancellations Amid Snowstorm

A fast-moving winter storm is disrupting one of the country’s busiest aviation corridors at exactly the wrong time: the post-Christmas travel surge.

Flight tracking data cited by Gulf News showed at least 400 cancellations and dozens of delays across LaGuardia (LGA), John F. Kennedy (JFK), and Newark Liberty (EWR) as airlines began preemptively cutting schedules overnight into Friday.

The weather setup matters for travelers because it compounds risk across the entire trip chain. The National Weather Service expectation calls for roughly 4 to 8 inches of snow in and around New York City and Long Island, with temperatures staying cold enough to keep surfaces slick and visibility reduced.
