Turkey suffered a major spike in infections in spring 2021, leading to a 17-day lockdown in April and several other restrictions. As of July, the country lifted the nighttime curfew and Sunday lockdowns and started to slowly reopen.

Turkey is now open for tourism, even though the CDC still considers the country an area of very high COVID-19 transmission.
