A powerful winter system is set to batter large portions of Colorado this week, with the National Weather Service issuing multiple Winter Storm Warnings as forecasts continue to deteriorate across the state’s high country.
Heavy snow, damaging winds, and near-zero visibility are expected from late Monday night through early Thursday morning, impacting mountain passes, ski towns, and critical transportation corridors. The most intense conditions are forecast for western and central mountain ranges, including the Elkhead, Park, Gore, and San Juan Mountains.
