A powerful winter storm continues to hammer high-elevation regions of southern Montana and northwestern Wyoming, prompting multiple Winter Storm Warnings from the National Weather Service.
Forecasters warn that heavy snowfall, powerful wind gusts, and elevated avalanche danger will create hazardous travel and recreation conditions through 5 p.m. MST Wednesday.
The warnings, issued by the agency’s offices in Billings, Montana, and Riverton, Wyoming, cover the Absaroka/Beartooth Mountains, Crazy Mountains, Yellowstone National Park, the Absaroka Mountains, and the Teton and Gros Ventre Mountains, as well as the Salt River and Wyoming ranges.
