The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Winter Storm Warning for parts of eastern and northern Maine, cautioning residents of heavy snow, poor visibility, and hazardous travel conditions beginning Monday afternoon through late Tuesday.
According to the NWS office in Caribou, the warning impacts areas including Princeton, Calais, and eastern Washington County, where snowfall is expected to accumulate between 6 to 10 inches, with localized amounts possibly exceeding a foot. Winds are forecasted to gust as high as 35 mph, contributing to blowing and drifting snow.
