Heavy Snowstorm Warning Issued for 10 Nebraska Counties as Conditions Worsen

A powerful winter system is set to sweep across central and western Nebraska beginning late Wednesday night, prompting the National Weather Service (NWS) in North Platte to issue a Winter Storm Warning for 10 counties across the state as conditions are expected to deteriorate rapidly.

The warning, issued at 11:33 a.m. CST Wednesday, upgrades a previous winter storm watch and will remain in effect from midnight CST (11 p.m. MST) Wednesday through midnight CST Thursday night.

Counties under the warning include Sheridan, Eastern Cherry, Western Cherry, Grant, Hooker, Thomas, Blaine, Loup, McPherson, Logan, and Custer, covering a broad swath of central, north central, and west central
