A powerful winter storm is set to impact northeastern Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin, prompting the National Weather Service (NWS) to issue blizzard and winter storm warnings across nine counties beginning Tuesday evening and lasting through midday Thursday.
The most severe conditions are expected along Minnesota’s North Shore, where a Blizzard Warning remains in effect for Southern Lake and Southern Cook counties from 9 p.m. Tuesday until noon CST Thursday. Forecasters warn of snow accumulations between 10 and 18 inches, with easterly wind gusts reaching up to 60 mph, creating life-threatening whiteout conditions.
