A potentially historic winter storm is set to batter large portions of the Mid-Atlantic, with blizzard warnings and winter storm warnings issued across Maryland and Delaware as heavy snowfall and powerful winds threaten to create life-threatening travel conditions through Monday evening.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS), a powerful nor’easter will intensify Sunday afternoon, bringing snowfall rates that could exceed two inches per hour, widespread blowing and drifting snow, and wind gusts as high as 60 mph in some coastal areas.
