The National Weather Service (NWS) in Duluth has issued a Winter Weather Advisory affecting seven counties across northeastern Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin, warning residents about hazardous travel conditions caused by freezing drizzle and light ice accumulation.
The advisory is in effect until midnight CST Thursday, and officials say even a thin layer of ice could create dangerous road conditions, especially during the evening commute.
Freezing Drizzle Expected Across the Region
According to the National Weather Service, freezing drizzle is expected to produce ice accumulations of up to one-tenth of an inch in some areas, while other locations may see a light glaze.
