The worst wildfire disaster in Georgia’s recorded history is still burning this morning — and conditions are expected to remain extreme through the weekend.

Two massive wildfires are tearing through southeast Georgia right now, and neither is anywhere close to being controlled. The Highway 82 Fire and the larger Pineland Road Fire have together destroyed more than 120 homes, Governor Brian Kemp confirmed Friday, when around 4,000 homes were still in the evacuation zone.
