The National Weather Service (NWS) in Omaha/Valley has issued a Flood Watch Warning for 14 counties across Nebraska, citing the elevated risk of ice jam formation along major rivers in the region.
The watch, which went into effect at 3:23 a.m. CST on Thursday, February 5, will remain active through Monday evening.
The warning affects parts of east central, northeast, and southeast Nebraska. Counties included in the alert are Antelope, Pierce, Madison, Stanton, Cuming, Platte, Colfax, Dodge, Washington, Butler, Saunders, Douglas, Sarpy, and Cass. Cities impacted by the advisory include Omaha, Fremont, Norfolk, Columbus, Bellevue, and West Point, among others.
