Flood Watch Alert Issued For Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana

A flood watch has been issued across large portions of Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana as a potent storm system sweeps through the southeastern United States, bringing with it the risk of torrential rainfall, localized flash flooding, damaging winds, tornado possibilities, and hazardous travel conditions.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), the system is expected to bring widespread rain totals of 3 to 5 inches, with some isolated areas potentially receiving over 6 inches through Friday morning until Saturday noon.

The combination of already saturated soils and continued rainfall elevates the risk of rapid-onset flooding in both urban and low-lying rural areas.
