A powerful blizzard swept across Massachusetts early Monday, bringing heavy snowfall, wind gusts exceeding 60 miles per hour, and near-zero visibility, prompting officials to maintain winter storm warnings across much of the state through Tuesday morning.
The National Weather Service (NWS) in Boston/Norton confirmed that a Blizzard and Winter Storm Warnings remain in effect until 7 a.m. EST Tuesday for Franklin County and western Hampshire County. Forecasters expect an additional 7 to 10 inches of snow, with wind gusts reaching up to 55 mph, creating dangerous travel conditions and the potential for tree damage.
