Cancun Back In Business! Hurricane Beryl Caused Minimal Damages, Say Authorities

The alluring Cancun Hotel Zone strictly implemented protection recommendations suggested by the state and federal governments, as a result, Hurricane Beryl caused minimal damages, authorities have informed.

As soon as the hurricane left the city, Civil Protection officers and some firefighters patrolled the area, including Kukulkan Boulevard, to carry out some drainage work since the area had a flood (up to 8 inches).

The electric grid resisted the strong winds and nobody lost their lives or got hurt. Hours later, mobility improved as water drained off the streets. 

Quintana Roo only reported “minor inconveniences” compared to what happened in other Caribbean destinations such as the island of Grenada.
