Blizzard Warning Issued for 6 Counties in Minnesota as Conditions Worsen

A Blizzard Warning has been issued for six counties in southern and southwestern Minnesota as high winds and falling snow create dangerous whiteout conditions, according to the National Weather Service.

The warning, issued Wednesday afternoon by the NWS Twin Cities/Chanhassen office, covers Renville, Nicollet, Blue Earth, Brown, Redwood, and Yellow Medicine counties through 6 p.m. CST. Officials report that blizzard conditions are already occurring along the Minnesota River Valley, significantly reducing visibility and making travel potentially life-threatening.
