A powerful Nor’easter is set to batter Massachusetts and much of southern New England, prompting the National Weather Service to issue Blizzard Warnings and Winter Storm Warnings across large portions of the state as conditions are expected to deteriorate rapidly beginning Sunday afternoon.
The most severe impacts are forecast for eastern, northeastern, and southeastern Massachusetts, including the Boston-to-Providence corridor. The National Weather Service office in Boston/Norton upgraded its earlier winter storm watch to a Blizzard Warning in effect from 4 p.m. Sunday until 7 a.m. Tuesday.
