A powerful late-winter storm is set to sweep across parts of Minnesota and Wisconsin beginning Thursday afternoon, prompting the National Weather Service (NWS) to issue blizzard and winter storm warnings for at least 14 counties across the region.
Forecasters warn the storm will bring heavy snowfall, powerful winds, and dangerous travel conditions through Friday afternoon, potentially disrupting commutes and causing localized power outages.
Blizzard Warning for Lake and Cook Counties
The National Weather Service in Duluth has issued a Blizzard Warning for Southern Lake and Southern Cook counties in northeastern Minnesota, including the cities of Silver Bay, Two Harbors, and Grand Marais.
