Bad Air Quality Warning Issued for 5 Counties in Pennsylvania

National Weather Service and the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection have issued a Code Orange Air Quality Alert for five counties in south-central Pennsylvania, warning residents that pollution levels may become unhealthy for sensitive groups through Saturday night.

The alert, which remains in effect until late tonight, covers Dauphin, Lebanon, Cumberland, York, and Lancaster counties, collectively part of the Susquehanna Valley region. According to the advisory released Saturday morning, air pollution concentrations are expected to rise to levels that could pose health risks for certain populations.
