Insta360 has launched a firmware upgrade and new accessories for its X5 360-degree camera as part of what it calls the Insta360 Summer Update. Key new features include “AdaptiveTone” to improve dual camera exposure, a new “Ultra Battery” for longer recording times, an ND filter set and custom-designed lenses.
“It can be a struggle for dual-lens cameras like X5 to balance the exposure across both lenses,” the company explained. To fix this issue it came up with AdaptiveTone, which independently records light data for both lenses in order to preserve highlight and shadow
