Recently-waived WNBA guard just made the perfect move

The Minnesota Lynx announced on Saturday that they signed Jaylyn Sherrod, the defensive-minded guard whom 1the New York Liberty waived last week. To do so, they waived Yvonne Anderson, who signed a Seven-Day contract with the Lynx late last month.

For Minnesota, Sherrod is a shrewd signing for several reasons; for one, at 23 years old, she’s another promising young player who could fit into Minnesota’s defensive-oriented style down the road. Sherrod has shown a lot of promise as a prospect; the undrafted sophomore had a standout career at the University of Colorado, where she was a two-time All-Pac-12 Team selection, averaging 12.8 points, 3.1 rebounds, 5.1 assists, and 2.2
