Oliver Oakes resigns as Alpine Team Principal

The Alpine Formula 1 team is now undergoing another leadership change.

According to a statement from the team, Oliver Oakes has tendered his resignation, which the team has accepted “with immediate effect.”

As set forth in the statement, Flavio Briatore will continue as Executive Advisor and will also be covering the duties previously performed by Oliver Oakes.

Alpine finished sixth in the 2024 Constructors’ Championship standings. They entered this season with a driver lineup consisting of veteran Pierre Gasly and rookie Jack Doohan, and following last weekend’s Miami Grand Prix they sit ninth in the standings, with seven points on the season.
