For all the complaints that people have about the “modern era” of college basketball, there’s one thing pretty much everyone can agree on: The non-conference scheduling in the sport has never been better.
We aren’t all that far removed from a time when a host of preseason top 25 teams would go for more than a month at the start of a season before facing a team with a pulse. Now, almost every team with a small number next to their name will rake on multiple legitimate tests before the calendar flips to December.
