The San Francisco 49ers have been stung by the injury bug for the second year in a row, and it’s only getting worse.
49ers superstar linebacker Fred Warner suffered a serious ankle injury in the first quarter of the team’s Week 6 game with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Warner’s leg was rolled up on as the defense brought down Tampa Bay’s running back Rachaad White. You can watch the play here.
Warner suffered a dislocated ankle, according to The Athletic. He will undergo season-ending surgery, according to the 49ers. He was ruled out for the game immediately. He had an air cast placed on his leg, and he was carted off
