The Indianapolis Colts shocked us all this past week when they brought Philip Rivers out of retirement to play quarterback for them. Given that Rivers last played competitively during the 2020 season and that it is mid-December of 2025 the word “shocked” is actually putting it pretty lightly.
As you can imagine there were reactions from all across the spectrum regarding the Rivers news. Many poked fun given that Rivers is now literally a grandfather while others noted that the Colts know that they are close and want to hand the keys to the most important position on their team to someone who knows their offense well.
