The LPGA has a new major champion and her name is Maja Stark.
Play wrapped at Erin Hills on Sunday and ended with Maja raising the trophy that so many chased valiantly over the week. It took a 7-under par score for Stark to emerge victorious, two clear of Nelly Korda and Rio Takeda who tied for second.
This marks the first career major championship for Stark and it is a particularly notable one for Sweden.
