2025 PGA Championship: Phil Mickelson owned his poor Scottie Scheffler take following major win

Hot takes often prove to be wrong. That is why they are called hot takes, after all.

You will recall that back in March the great Phil Mickelson unloaded quite the Take. He said that he believed LIV’s Joaquin Niemann was the best golfer in the world. Given that Scottie Scheffler held and still holds that post following his PGA Championship win… that was bold to say the least.

What’s more for Phil is that the take got bolder. He faced criticism for what he said about Scottie and doubled down, more than that really, by suggesting that Scottie may not win an event before the Ryder Cup later
