EVERETT, Wash. — A Snohomish County corrections officer says she was fired after reporting a co-worker for grooming minors and encouraging sexual harassment at a juvenile detention center.

A former corrections officer at Denney Juvenile Justice Center claims she was fired in retaliation for reporting a colleague who she says groomed young detainees and encouraged them to sexually harass her.

The officer, who worked at the facility for less than a year, says she noticed the behavior shortly after starting the job in December
