WSP trooper rear-ended in Pierce County

The Washington State Patrol trooper was struck from behind and then crashed into other vehicles, according to officials.

PIERCE COUNTY, Wash. — A Washington State Patrol trooper is in the hospital after their vehicle was struck from behind and then crashed into other vehicles in Pierce County.

Eastbound lanes of state Route 512 near Canyon Road East are fully blocked due to the four-vehicle collision, Trooper Kameron Watts posted on X Monday night.

The trooper was inside their patrol vehicle while in traffic when they were rear-ended, then “subsequently caused collisions with other cars,” Watts said.

The trooper suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
