Wildfire smoke causes hazy skies across Puget Sound

The Seattle skyline looked hazy due to wildfire smoke that caused moderate air quality.

SEATTLE — Wildfire smoke created hazy skies in the Seattle area on Thursday and gave the sun and moon a red, fiery glow.

Most of the wildfire smoke is expected to stay aloft, which won’t significantly deteriorate air quality at the surface. However, with high pressure in place, it could bring some of the smoke down to the surface, according to KING 5 Meteorologist Ashley Ruiz.
