The Bear Gulch wildfire near Lake Cushman has grown to over 3,000 acres with only 3% containment.
LAKE CUSHMAN, Wash. — The Bear Gulch wildfire next to Lake Cushman is now more than 3,000 acres and 3% contained, according to officials.
The fire began July 6 and is believed to be human-caused. Hanging moss is carrying the fire through the tree canopy, with embers starting spot fires.
The fire is believed to be up to 3,900 acres based on infrared mapping.
